HOUSING MARKET OUTLOOK
The housing market for 2005 is headed for a fifth consecutive annual record and sales activity in 2006 is expected to be the second best year in history, according to NAR.
Market conditions are still favorable, says NAR Chief Economist David Lereah, adding "the slowdown amounts to a tapping of the brakes on a hot market."

Rates on 30-year mortgages fell for a second consecutive week to an average
6.26 percent, but most analysts still believe they will generally continue to rise as the Federal Reserve keeps tightening credit to keep inflation under control.
